2009 TV Land Awards to Honor Sid and Marty Krofft
If you grew up in the 70’s and 80’s, then you grew up with the shows of Sid and Marty Krofft. They were the masterminds behind those Saturday morning icons like H.R. PufnStuf, Land of the Lost and Sigmund the Sea Monster.
The Kroffts will be recognized for their contribution to the world when they receive the Pop Culture Award at the 2009 TV Land Awards which will be taped on Sunday, April 19th at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
The Kroffts join previously announced additional honorees Don Rickles (Legend Award), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Legacy of Laughter Award), "Married With Children" (Innovator Award), "ER," (Icon Award), "M*A*S*H" (Impact Award), "Home Improvement" (Fan Favorite Award), "Magnum P.I." (Hero Award), "Two and a Half Men" (Future Classic Award) and "Knots Landing" (30th Anniversary Award).
Presenters at the ceremony will include Will Ferrell, Teri Hatcher, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Kimmel, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dr. Phil. Additionally, music stars Cyndi Lauper and David Cassidy will perform in the tribute to Sid and Marty Krofft.
The TV Land Awards will be hosted by How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and will air on TV Land during a special presentation of TV Land PRIME on Sunday, April 26th at 8PM ET/PT.
