‘Fringe’ Symbols – Code Cracked!

The mystery of the symbols show during commercial breaks on Fringe has been solved!

And what are they?  A simple one-to-one, monoalphabetic substitution cypher, just like we saw used by Astrid in the episode "In Which We Meet Mr. Jones."

The code was cracked by Ars Technica editor Julian Sanchez and Fringe Television has put together this graphic to illustrate:

GlyphCodeKey

Basically, each set of glyphs can be put together to form a word which relates to the theme of the episode.  Here’s what they figured out for the episodes so far:

101: OBSERVER
102: CHILD
103: AEGER
104: ROGUE
105: SURGG [should be SURGE?]
106: CELLS
107: CODES
108: TAKEN
109: VOICE
110: TRADE
111: SAVED
112: BISHOP
113: AVIAN
114: OLIVIA

And since the visual was developed we have also seen a six-fingered hand with the glowing ball of light on the right which would seem to be the "W."  That would make episode 115’s clue "WALTER" and 116’s "PETER."
