Spoiler Roundup: Grey’s, Heroes, LOST, BBT, Smallville
Here’s a roundup of the latest spoilers from around the web:
Grey’s Anatomy
-
Everwood’s Debra Mooney, Gilmore Girls’ Liza Weil, and The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco are slated to guest star in the show’s two-hour season finale on May 14. Mooney will play mom to Kevin McKidd’s emotionally tormented Owen, while Weil will appear as a cancer patient who crosses paths with Izzie. Cuoco says she doesn’t know what her role will be. "My guess is that I will be a patient of some kind," she continues. "I’m practicing my scared-sad-I’m-dying face."
-
It seems that Shonda Rimes is setting the stage for T.R. Knight’s exit. As the season nears its end, George will not only (MAJOR SPOILER ALERT) march off to war, but he’ll be wounded in the line of duty. "T.R. doesn’t know whether George lives or dies," explains a source close to the show. "And, as a result, he doesn’t know whether or not he has to come back next season." Say it ain’t so!
-
Thatcher Grey returns and Sharon Lawrence guest stars as Izzie’s mom in the April 30 episode. The Chief and Thatcher finally come to blows, Thatcher invites Lexie and Mark to dinner, Izzie turns out to be a chip off the old block.
-
In the May 7 episode, supposedly groom-to-be Derek will give a wedding gift to Meredith: her first solo surgery.
-
Are Mer and Der the ones getting married in the 100th episode? Maybe they are and maybe they aren’t. Here’s some scoop from a Zap2It reader – One of my coworkers was in Los Angeles on business, and when I called her and told her about Grey’s filming the wedding scene, she freaked and found the set. She was there for the lunch break (she said there were two or three paps there too) but she said later Katherine Heigl was standing in the doorway with T.R. Knight, and she was smoking in a wedding dress. She had a big jacket/robe thing over it, but she said there was no doubt it was a wedding dress. She said Katherine was only in the doorway a minute or two before they called her back in, but she has no doubt that it was a wedding dress.
LOST, Heroes, Big Bang Theory and Smallville after the cut!
-
Kate and Sawyer won’t get back together this season but check back in season 6 to see what happens.
-
Will Jack and Sayid last through the end of the series? Well neither will be the major Lost death happening in season five, but who knows what will happen next season!
-
The code name for this year’s season finale was chosen from fan submissions, and the winning name is "The Fork in the Outlet," according to ABC reps. The actual episode, though, is titled "The Incident."
-
Mrs. Hawking will spill about her relationship with Charles Widmore while her son Daniel will explain some of the Island’s mysteries. Also in the episode are Penny and Charles Widmore as well as Charlie Hume. As for the variable itself, it will almost certainly tie back to the equations and notations from the blast-door map we saw in season two, which included such bon mots as "Geological composition likely to cause magnetic disturbances/interference with weather project," "Primary nexus of Cerberus-related activity" and the infamous Valenzetti equation. Come on, who else wants a monster-centric ep? Remember, the only rule about flashbacks is that there are no rules. Before the end of the season, Smokey is totally gonna get himself some backstory!
-
Dr. Pierre Chang will finally get his chance to shine as he takes a lead role in this seasons final episodes. We will learn much more about what’s going on in all those Dharma stations. “They involve experiments on such things as electromagnetism and polar bears…for the betterment of mankind,” says François Chau, who portrays Chang. In the May 13 finale, viewers will witness Chang’s role in “the Incident,” the catastrophic event that could happen again if the Swan station button isn’t pushed every 108 minutes. It might also have something to do with another reveal—why Dr. Candle (but not any of his other incarnations) appears with a prosthetic arm.
-
A show insider says the April 27 season finale will be a big episode for Sylar. “After taking on the shape-shifting ability that further complicates his identity crisis, Sylar is responsible for a hero’s death,” says my mole, adding that Sylar’s “comeuppance will be poetic.” Apparently Sylar’s victim is a hero who’s been on the show since the first season—and because I’m hearing Hayden Panettiere (Claire), Milo Ventimiglia (Peter), Masi Oka (Hiro) and Ali Larter (Tracy) will all be back for Season 4, we should perhaps be worried about Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) or Greg Grunberg (Matt).
-
Look for Sylar’s mother, played by Ellen Greene, to make a return appearance in next week’s episode, “I am Sylar”.
-
The season finale of Heroes finds the shape-shifter Sylar turning into Sen. Nathan Petrelli in order to shake hands with the president of the United States (Michael Dorn) and take command of the country.
-
Tim Kring says we can expect a marriage proposal. “Sylar corners Claire and springs a proposal on her. He has this theory that she will come to love him because he can never die and she can never die–and thus, they’re destined to be together.”
-
The finale ends with a teaser for Volume 5: “Redemption,” the next story arc in the series. “We flash-forward three months and see the return of a character a lot of fans thought would never come back,” Kring says. “We also see Sylar shape-shifting yet again, and who he becomes is a real shocker. It’s the goofiest thing we’ve done yet-and I mean that in a good way!”
-
James Kyson Lee says that all 10 original members from season three will be back for the finale.
"We will have a little surprise in store for you," he said. "Basically, Ando and Hiro’s goal is to take down whoever is behind Building 26 and take down the bad guys, and both of us are going to try to combine our powers and see if we can make it happen."
LOST
Heroes
The Big Bang Theory
-
In the April 27 episode, Raj, Walowitz and Leonard head to Las Vegas after Sara Gilbert’s Leslie dumps Howard! "We go to Vegas…and there might be hookers involved, which you always know is going to be a good time." And for all you Sheldon and Penny fanatics, the duo is stuck at home—and together—when Sheldon locks himself out of his apartment
-
Leonard’s "Stuart" problem rears its nerdy little head again on May 4 when Kevin Sussman’s comic-book guru returns to take Penny out on a date. But as exec producer Bill Prady reveals, "The date doesn’t go well and Leonard comes to possess a piece of information that makes him very happy." Care to elaborate, Mr. Prady? "I’m not usually cagey, but it’s such a fun reveal at the end of the episode that I’m going to be a little cagey… I will say now that Leonard has this information, he’s going to find the events of the season finale confusing. And he’s going to spend the season finale trying to add up all the information he has and see if he can get it to make sense."
-
Clark can fly but simply hasn’t finalized it yet, in my opinion. When will we see him mastering this ability? — Tombstone25Kelly Souders: Clark Kent won’t really become Superman until he takes to the skies. We all have our stumbling blocks; his are just airborne. Until he can fully embrace his double-life, he’ll have a hard time getting off the ground. But, we will say, his "leaps" are getting closer and closer to the real thing.
-
Are there plans to explore more of Lois’ past in future episodes? Because we Lois fans are dying to learn more about her. And if she and Clark don’t kiss soon, we might go just a little crazy! — Nora_1983Souders: Please don’t go crazy. We’re all anxious for those two ships to stop passing in the night. Lois fans will be excited to hear you’ll be seeing more of Lois in the future. She’s fascinating and we’ll never stop digging into what makes her tick.
-
Will we see more of Chloe as Watchtower in the upcoming episodes? — Tyson08Souders: Watchtower…. All we’ll say is "stay tuned."
-
"Watchtower officially online" — that scene rocked! Is there any chance of a relationship between Watchtower and Green Arrow? The idea of that seems so wrong but at the same time so right. — LorraineSouders: We love anything that is so wrong and so right. We know Chloe and Oliver’s paths will keep crossing and evolving. But Watchtower and Green Arrow? That will give us a lot to twitter about in the writers’ room!
-
Why is Clark so remote from Chloe this season? Is he done being her "personal bomb squad" at a time when she needs him more than ever? — meabSouders: Clark has the weight of the world on his shoulders and one of his few flaws is that he doesn’t always see the problems closest to him. That relationship has been tested this season — and we must admit it hasn’t seen the worst of the exams.
-
Will we see Green Arrow and RBB team up anytime soon this season or next? — ripSouders: Yes. But the outcome may surprise you.
-
I probably won’t get a straight answer but I am going to take a chance: Did you think that was the best closure for Clark and Lana? Breaking them up because they had to, not because they learned as adults they were not going to work? — marhikatySouders: We wanted the young Lana we met eight years ago — the girl who always needed to be saved — to finish her arc as far from that helpless cheerleader as possible. It’s because they were adults, challenging each other to be stronger and better, that they had to part. The Kryptonite was really a symbol for what fans knew all along — that they weren’t destined for each other.
-
What has been your favorite episode this season and why? — heinzy512Souders: I’m a big fan of "Identity." Watching Clark struggle with his two personas has been interesting and fun. I loved seeing him backed into corners from which he wasn’t sure how to escape.
-
Although [Smallville series cocreators] Al Gough and Miles Millar have left the building, do you keep in contact with them? — smallville836Souders: We absolutely do keep in contact with them. They created the show and had the vision for it.
-
Are any of the executive producers going to do commentaries on the Season 8 DVD? — LennoxSouders: Brian [Peterson] and Darren [Swimmer] did it last week. Unfortunately, I had a fever of 102. But the episodes picked were two of my favorites from this year.
-
The ratings have been great this year and we’ve even been renewed for another season. What do you think kept people tuning in? And do you hope to capitalize on whatever that was next year? — HelgaNRSouders: Hopefully people have been tuning in for the characters. It’s been a lot of fun to watch them grow up. They still have a few growing pains to endure, but seeing them evolve into three-dimensional people with issues and baggage like the rest of us has been exciting. It never hurts to be reminded that even Superman has his off days. And diving further into the DC [Comics] world has been rich with possibilities. We plan to continue with both those aspects of the show — as well as come up with some new ones!
